FAQ'S at Expand Movement & Wellness
What is the GYROTONIC® method?
Check out our About page or head over to the GYROTONIC® website for more information.
How is the GYROTONIC® method different from pilates?
Every part of our specialized equipment has the ability to move in a circle and so many of our exercises are based around circles or spirals. The weights on the pulley tower are there to cancel out the effect of gravity so that the body can move without compression. Whereas pilates reformers use springs for resistance. You can read more about the GYROTONIC® method on our About page or on the GYROTONIC® website.
What should I wear to a session?
Athletic clothing that does not restrict movement.
Should I wear gym shoes?
Shoes will not be worn during a session. Socks are optional.
How often should I practice the GYROTONIC® method?
This exercise system is not hard on the body because we move without compression, therefore there is no limit to how often you practice. We recommend at least once a week in order to learn and maintain the principles of the method. But, 2-3 times per week is ideal. There are also exercises given as homework to maintain the quality if you are unable to come that often.
